I chose this photo I feel that it is simple but almost elegant at the same time. Compositionally, the leading lines and the positive and negative space move throughout the photo keeping someone who was to look at this piece enthralled in the image. Also the point of view is very different because the image is taken below the tree looking up at all the branches and leaves. The contrast in this photo stands out because there is a visible difference between the white values and the darker values in the photo. The focus on the photo is definitely the tree and how it branches out. Also, this photo has somewhat of an unexpected composition because while the tree is the main focus of the photo the faint lines from the power lines in the background allow for new leading lines that could entice the viewer to look at the photo in a different way.

This photo was taken for the pattern and texture assignment. What I like about this photo is the subtle texture that is involved in the photo because of the wet grass from the morning dew. My point of view was laying down in the grass straight on at the grass The photo follows the rule of thirds because no piece of the photo is centered directly in the center and there is one droplet of water in the right corner of the photo. The depth of field in this photo is very shallow because while the foreground is in crisp focus the further back in the image the blurrier the grass becomes. Also, the lighting in this photo is also compelling because it was early in the morning so the sun was peaking above the clouds, and gave a great tint on the blades of grass allowing the morning dew to shine clearly upon the blades of grass. Also I feel that this photo has a hidden sense of meaning because grass is so simple yet the glistening morning dew gives the photo such an elegant and beautiful composition.

This photo was taken for the motion assignment. What I like about this photo is that I was able to capture someone doing a backflip in mid-flip because it gives the photo such an interesting composition. My point of view was straight on with Danielle because my camera was on a tripod. Also, compositionally, this photo also has a lot of positive and negative space because not only does the person create a difference between the two, but the buildings and clock tower in the background create the space for what otherwise would've been a very negatively spaced photo. The shutter speed for this photo was set on 1/400 of a second which is a very fast shutter speed. The ISO for this photo was set on 200. Also, this photo has an element of surprise to it because it was captured in mid movement, it leaves the viewer wondering did she land the backflip or will she fall to the ground?
Photo 4:
Looking at this photo the compositionally piece that is most apparent is the depth. The photo is crisp and as you look further back into the photo you see more scrabble pieces, the little wood piece to place the letters on and even in the far back of the photo you can see the scrabble board. My point of view in this photo was a little bit above the pieces, so that I could capture the entire depth of field in the photo. The ISO in the photo was set at 800. The white balance was set to fluorescent. The most interesting thing about this piece is it seems to have a hidden meaning with what the scrabble pieces are spelling out. The meaning is something inspirational because mind over matter is like an inspirational saying and it's almost a mystery of the saying because mind is almost completely blurred out and the saying gets more in focus the further into the foreground you look.

This photo was taken for the studio portraits assignment. What I like about this photo is the positive and negative space created by the shadows. My point of view was at a slight angle to the model because I am not looking directly at her face. The ISO was set at 800. The lightning in the photo was from one light and set up directly on the side of Tara which is why the shadow on her nose appears. I feel that this photo has an compelling subject matter because not many people are able to stay still while balancing multiple books on top of their head.
Photo 6:
This photo was also taken for the studio portrait assignment. Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is the positive and negative space. Also, the photo has a great texture within the leaves of the flower as well has the smoothness of her face. These two also allow for a great contrast between the two as the sharpness of the leaves greatly contrasts with the smoothness of Tara's face. The iso for this photo was set at 1600. I feel that this photo has a hidden sense of mystery. I feel this way because of the way she is looking at the flower seems like she could have a special connection to it.
